RESIDENCE DON,
QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY
As a Don, I was a community builder, conflict manager, educational programmer, and security/safety point person. Working independently and in a team, this job provided me the opportunity to develop leadership, creative, and teaching skills. In my third year, as a Senior Don, I stepped up to a leadership role within the team, helping new Dons navigate their role, creating and maintaining work schedules and providing peer support to the staff team. I was also fortunate during my time with Residence Life to serve on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Committee and to co-create and lead two professional development workshops on privilege, equity and oppression.

Q SUCCESS MENTOR, QUEEN'S STUDENT EXPERIENCE OFFICE
As a volunteer mentor, I was paired with two first year students in the Q Success program with whom I met regularly. Through peer helping, I assisted with their transition to university, helped them solve problems, adapt their learning strategies to the new environment, and then supported their transition to upper year expectations.

CAMP COUNSELLOR,
CAMP KODIAK
Camp Kodiak is an overnight camp that specializes in providing the camp experience to kids ages 8-18 who have ADHD, learning disabilities, and/or high-functioning ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). In the first session (4 weeks), I lived and worked with eight 16-18 year old girls supporting them through daily tasks (like sweeping the cabin) and activities (like canoeing), helping them learn social skills through regular interactions as well as being an emotional support. In the second session (3 weeks), I worked as a support staff member, a role in which I spent time working with all different ages of boys and girls of different functioning levels. Throughout the summer, I created lessons plans for and taught drama, canoeing, and kayaking to a variety of cabin groups, ensuring that I created lesson plans suited to the specific group I was working with on any given day.
